Yang Chongguang’s works are like dreams, real and empty. The inexplicable sentiments and expectation that are full of them confirm the journey of life and a situation of life that is exposed and entangled inside. For Yang Chongguang, the ruins are the source of inspiration for his interpretation of "Chinese expressionism", his exploration of human nature and the search for the secret soil of "existence". Yang Chongguang condensed his innate compassion and his exploration and expression of human nature into a three-dimensional ruin of time bearing time.

Yang Chongguang was born in Wuhu, Anhui Province in 1955. He studied at the Brunswick Academy of Fine Arts in Germany from 1990 to 1996 with a Master’s Degree. From 1997 to 2014, he was the director of the Centre for Modern Art of the University of Science and Technology of China, and lectured on the history of modern art. He now lives and works in Hefei, Anhui Province.
